BARNSTABLE – Police are investigating two early morning store break-ins which occurred within about an hour-and-a-half of one another…
At about 1:55AM, Barnstable Patrol Units responded to West Main Gas in Hyannis for a Breaking and Entering which had just occurred.
At about 3:30AM, Barnstable Patrol Units rushed out to West Barnstable after receiving a store glass-break alarm.
When officers arrived they observed a side window to the Seven G’s Liquor Shoppe at 990 Main Street/Route 6a smashed in.
According to police radio traffic, it sounded like officers discovered a cash register on the side of the road near Seven G’s. There was reportedly some money from the cash drawer on the ground and spread about…
While patrol units were investigating the B&E, with a K-9 unit out tracking, Barnstable Sergeant Troy Perry stopped a suspicious vehicle on the Route 149 overpass at Route 6, about a mile away from Seven G’s. The driver of that vehicle was arrested for being the possible suspect in the B&Es.
The driver was transported back to BPD Headquarters for booking and processing. He was then eventually transported to CCH for a wounded hand. The hand was bleeding and needed stitches…
At about 5:08AM, officers went to a third location at 285 Church Street in West Barnstable. A crime scene investigator was called in to gather images and evidence there. The Church Street address was mentioned to possibly be related to the earlier B&Es…
According to sources, the suspect was returned to BPD Headquarters and interviewed by detectives…
UPDATE 9-15-16: Barnstable Police charged Joshua R. Delancey, age 37, out of Falmouth, with last night’s Seven G’s Liquors and West Main Gas B&Es… They were also able to charge him with a recent B&E at the Mobil gas station in Centerville.
Delancey is being charged with 3 counts of B&E Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Felony, 3 counts of Larceny in a Building, and 2 counts of Larceny Over $250. All charges are considered felonies.
