FREAK ACCIDENT: Teen run over by her own truck… Medflighted from Marstons Mills… [VIDEO… UPDATED INFO]
UPDATE – 11:30AM – 9/5/2014: According to sources, the teen was traveling south on 149 when she experienced brake problems. She managed to pull to the side of the paved travel lane, where she got out; the truck was still on an incline. The truck began to roll back and she somehow got caught and dragged as far as 20 to 30 feet. She had serious lacerations, bruises, and possible internal injuries. (An unconfirmed online source reports a man in a car traveling behind her was one of the first to come to her aid.) Police and rescue responded to a call initially described as pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. The normal sources are not releasing the minor’s name at this time. In the video below, you can see the tow truck driver loading the truck onto his flatbed. At one point the truck’s emergency brakes appear to malfunction and let go, allowing the truck to lurch backward … it’s uncertain whether the same thing happened to the young girl, but it would be consistent with current information.
