Driver charged for leaving scene after his car slammed into a tree… [HN VIDEO]
BREWSTER – At about 4:30 a.m. this morning, Brewster Police received a call from a passing motorist for what appeared to be a single car accident at the intersection of Airline Road and Pond View Drive.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, the first Brewster Patrolwoman on scene confirmed that it was an accident and that she could not initially tell whether or not someone was still inside the vehicle due to the side airbag curtains blocking her view of the interior. She also initially radioed that the car doors were locked.
Additional police and firefighters arrived on scene to assist. The accident occurred in Brewster right near the town line, and nearby police and firefighters from the neighboring Town of Dennis also arrived to help out.
After a brief investigation, first responders determined the vehicle was unoccupied.
The investigating Brewster Patrolwoman went to a nearby residence looking for the male registered owner after determining the vehicle was registered to an address on Pond View Drive.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, the Brewster Patrolwoman issued a criminal application/citation to a male driver for “leaving the scene.” The driver also reportedly “declined rescue or any medical assistance.”
