CAR STOP FOOT PURSUIT: Patrolman chases wanted man into woods and deploys Taser… [AUDIO]
MASHPEE – As you’ll hear in the following audio, a patrolman was attempting to stop a pickup when the driver suddenly jumped out and took off into the woods.
At about 8:30PM last evening (Thursday), a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Summerwood Condominiums turned into an intense foot chase which ended after an officer announced he had just deployed his Taser…
A 42-year-old West Yarmouth man was taken into custody. It turns out he had several warrants for a litany of past offenses ranging from failing to stop for police, to drug charges. He was transported to Mashpee Police Headquarters for booking and processing on the warrants and additional charges.
The passenger, a 37-year-old woman from Wellfleet, remained with the vehicle and cooperated with police. She didn’t do anything wrong and police gave her a ride to her destination so she didn’t have to wait out in the rain.
