HN VIDEO: 65-year-old man struck while crossing 28 by the Mall…
HYANNIS – According to Lieutenant Lamothe with the Hyannis FD, the 65-year-old man was transported to CCH with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The man was found down in the middle of Route 28 near the rear entrance to the Cape Cod Mall… and the vehicle which struck the man remained on scene.
A private ambulance company was assisting Barnstable Police officers when HN arrived on scene…
As you will see in the following HN Video, the man was being treated in the roadway, approximately two to three car lengths away from the point of apparent impact.
The section of roadway has been the scene of numerous pedestrian car strikes, some fatal.
Lt. Lamothe said today’s victim was “lucky” and that when rescue workers heard the location they were preparing themselves for the worst. Fortunately, the man’s injuries are not believed life-threatening…
HN NOTE: According to emergency radio transmissions, the patient may have been intoxicated…
