COPS: Heavily intoxicated West Yarmouth man crashed through security gate, left scene…
The following is the actual YPD press statement:
DRUNK DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING THROUGH SECURITY GATE
On Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 8:10PM Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer Brian Carchedi and his partner Patrol Officer Jeffrey Rivett responded to the Gate House at Great Island located at the end of South Sea Avenue regarding a report that someone driving a truck had just crashed through the gate and left the scene.
Police Officers arrived at the scene and met with the Gate Guard who provided a description of the truck and the Connecticut license plate information.
A query of our computerized internal records indicated a local address for the registered owner.
Yarmouth Police Officers responded to that address—33 Baxter Avenue in West Yarmouth—and found the damaged truck in the driveway with the driver still seated inside.
The driver was interviewed, given a series of standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and determined to be heavily intoxicated. He was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters for booking and is scheduled for arraignment today in the Barnstable District Court on a variety of criminal charges.
