HN PHOTOS: Cops investigating mysterious Cotuit crash… K-9 tracked to nearby address allegedly related to driver who left the scene…
COTUIT – When officers arrived on scene, the young female driver was nowhere to be found…
At about 7:50PM last evening, several Barnstable Patrol units responded to Putnam Ave near the intersection with Devon Lane after a Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed head-on into a tree, sustaining heavy damage.
A resident came out of his home to investigate and observed the young female driver while she was still on scene… but after calling police to report the crash, the driver mysteriously disappeared.
Patrolman Jeffrey Jackson and his rookie K-9 partner Rokko had a strong track to an address in the area of Eisenhower Drive and Sampsons Mill Road, several blocks from the crash scene. A computer search revealed the address was allegedly related to the prime suspect.
In the above HN Photo, officers conducted a threshold interview with an older woman at the address where the driver was suspected to be hiding out.
Despite having strong leads and suspicions, the whereabouts of the driver and the reason as to why she decided to leave the scene remains a mystery at the time of this report. [DEVELOPING]
