Driver okay after snapping utility pole in Yarmouth Port… [HN photos]
YARMOUTH PORT, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – At around 4:45 a.m. this morning, police responded to the area of 191 Route 6A for a report of a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found an SUV spun around, damaged, and disabled after striking a utility pole. Due to airbag deployment, the driver was checked out as a precaution by a Yarmouth FD ambulance crew. She was released from the scene minutes later. According to sources, the young adult female driver was on her way to work prior to the crash. The utility pole was snapped at the base, hanging by the intact power lines above. Eversource responded for repairs. A state trooper arrived to help out with traffic. A member of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit was also on hand for crash scene photos. The Yarmouth Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
