Firefighters quickly knock down spreading natural gas fire…
FALMOUTH – Falmouth Firefighters battled a natural gas fueled fire yesterday on Locustfield Road at around 4:20 p.m..
The fire was reportedly spreading to the residence’s interior after catching onto wood shake shingles on the first and second floors.
Falmouth engines 21, 25, 22 and Ladder 26 responded to the scene while Mashpee FD and Joint Base Cape Cod provided station coverage. The Falmouth Police Department also assisted with traffic control.
The fire was knocked down quickly, “within a few minutes,” according to a statement from Falmouth Fire-Rescue.
There were no reported injuries. “The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Rescue Department, Town Inspectional Services and the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities,” according to the media statement.
