Gunshots behind elementary school…
Hyannis – Several Barnstable Police squad cars responded to the neighborhood behind the old Hyannis East Elementary School for reports of 6 gunshots early tonight.

Police stopped a couple of 18-year-old males who were out walking in the area. A record check on both came back clean.

The several calls to police came from Bristol Ave and Crooked Pond Road. Some neighbors on Crooked Pond told police the shots came from the area between the back of the elementary school and their street.

Officers searched some paths in the wooded area behind the school, but were unable to locate any hard evidence of actual gunfire.
