HN VIDEO: Firefighters battle Hyannis house fire…

HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, Hyannis Firefighters responded to a fire at 184 Compass Circle yesterday at around 7:00PM.

Neighbors said they saw flames shooting up above the roof line, coming from the back side of the family dwelling.

HN spoke briefly with Hyannis Fire Chief Peter Burke and they are considering that the fire possibly started because of an outdoor barbecue grill, but they were not 100% certain at the time of this report and are looking into other possibilities.

As you will see in the HN Video, the fire appears to have started on the outside back wall of the building…

… and the first firefighters on scene were able to quickly knock down the flames. But some fire reportedly extended through the outside wall and into the building. According to radio transmissions, firefighters needed to tear into walls to deal with extension issues. There also was a lot of smoke in the building, especially the attic area…

There were no injuries reported…

Hyannis Fire Department is investigating the scene.
