HOCKEY NIGHT IN HYTOWN: Stampfl Strong! [VIDEO]

HYANNIS – Barnstable Police Lieutenant David Cameron piped them onto the ice, as the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and Barnstable Police Department limbered up for an evening of ice hockey.
Dennis Stampfl, a respected patrolman for the Barnstable Police Department, formally a member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department, took center stage as he announced his ongoing battle with cancer.
Members of both departments struggled to hold back tears as their beloved brother stepped up to the microphone and publicly announced his ongoing battle with cancer. This time it’s his second bout with cancer, the first he had already successfully conquered.
Stampfl is no stranger to HN and HyTown’s efforts fighting crime. Dennis Stampfl transferred to the BPD in recent years because he wanted to make a difference in the lives of the people of Barnstable. HN can attest that Stampfl has exceeded all expectations in his role as a patrolman for the Town of Barnstable.
Dennis Stampfl is not only a personal friend of Hyannis News, he’s a credit to law enforcement in the region and world wide.
HN has personally observed Stampfl, one of Barnstable’s finest, save lives and take a heroic stand in our ongoing battle against narcotics in this region.
We simply have a hero on our hands who needs our prayers as he conquers his battle with cancer once again for the second time.
As you’ll see in the following video footage, Stampfl has a loving young wife and two beautiful young daughters who need our support and prayers…
Tonight’s hockey game was to raise funds and awareness for the Stampfl family. It was a wonderful loving gesture put on by both the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and Barnstable Police Department.
As you will see in the following video, Dennis is most certainly a devoted cop who loves his town and family.
Please do all within your power to support this brave son of HyTown and the Town of Barnstable as he battles his way back from cancer.
Tonight’s spirited hockey game between the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and Barnstable Police Department illustrates the love and commitment of law enforcement efforts in our region.
The following video highlights a wonderful night for local law enforcement and our region’s finest. HN presents the following footage for all to enjoy.
Once again, please remember Officer Stampfl and his family in your prayers. We are HyTown. We are Barnstable’s city by the sea. We stand together Stampfl strong!
(HN apologizes for sporadic technical difficulties which led to the deletion of parts of last night’s national anthem… Retired Barnstable Patrolman Steve O’Brian traveled all the way home from Tennessee to honor us with the his performance and unfortunately technology was not on our side for his entire effort… Disculpe!)
NOTE: HN has lived all over this planet and has witnessed law enforcement efforts across the globe. I can attest we are very fortunate to have such a well trained and caring law enforcement network here on Cape Cod…. it simply is not like this in other parts of the world. Sure, we’re not entirely perfect, and there are always exceptions and bad cops wherever you go. But for the most part, we are spoiled here on Cape Cod with some of the finest cops you’d ever want to know. I know this may sound incredulous for some, but when the [bleep] hits the fan in your life, and I sincerely hope it never does, perhaps you’ll mark my words then and realize that we are truly blessed.
On a more personal note: Dennis Stampfl, HN and its readers love you more than you’ll ever know and cannot wait for you to be once again out there patrolling our streets and keeping all of us safe.
GOD BLESS!
Stampfl Strong!
