The Good News: Courtney Craddock and Linda Pyne-Bonia have been able to keep Mary off the streets and out of the dangerous bitter cold for the past three weeks by utilizing leftover funds from a previous GoFundMe highly supported by HN Readers. (A good deed by everyone, that has been very complicated and challenging at times, to say the least…)
The Bad, More Urgent News: HN has been told the leftover emergency funds that helped get Mary through the past three weeks, including last week’s blizzard, have been used up and more money is desperately needed. New donations will be used to keep Mary inside emergency shelter at the The Hyannis Plaza Hotel on Main Street… and then possibly into something more permanent. HN will be doing a follow up story on the amazing life-saving efforts of Courtney and Linda, who took the time to visit and care for Mary daily over the past three weeks. (At one point – the night before the blizzard – Mary suffered a brief illness which included a high fever. She’s much better now and is still at the hotel as of tonight, thanks to past donations from HN readers. HN Readers are truly angels for the downtrodden!)
But Mary now needs more funds to extend her stay and hopefully move her into something more permanent at some point.
The first, immediate goal is to keep Mary safe in emergency basic shelter. The second longterm, more complicated goal is to get Mary into a more permanent housing situation.
The following is the new emergency GoFundMe for Mary that many have been asking about. Now is the time to fund Mary’s immediate basic shelter needs, at the very least…
