HYANNIS – An alert motorist and her friend doubled back around the block because they thought they had just seen smoke. They did! They did see smoke!
Hyannis Firefighters were quickly notified thanks to the two women who took the time to go back and investigate, very likely preventing a small fire from becoming much much worse…
At about 10:15 p.m., firefighters arrived at the Sea Street Cafe, located at 50 Sea Street and the corner of South Street.
The smokey fire apparently involved two large pots in the kitchen. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and ventilate the building.
The restaurant appeared closed at the time and there were no reported injuries.
