HYANNIS – [UPDATED] – An adult aged male is in custody after what appears to have been a tire slashing/road rage/parking lot incident.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, shortly after 11:00 p.m. last evening, police were dispatched to the Speedway gas station on the corner of Bearses Way and Route 28 after a female driver reported that a male had just “slashed” her vehicle with a knife. The knife had punctured her tire causing it to go flat…
Responding Barnstable Police Officers were given a plate number and vehicle description. The vehicle came back to a residence in Mashpee. But heads ups research by dispatchers revealed that a likely male suspect associated with the vehicle in question had recently been arrested at a residence just several blocks away from the scene of the crime.
Police checked Bristol Ave and located the vehicle. The vehicle was empty and there was reportedly a knife in the center console.
Moments later officers encountered a male at the front door to the residence but he denied being involved in the tire slashing. Witnesses, however, told officers they got a good look at the suspect and could identify him. An officer then transported a female witness from the Speedway to the Bristol Ave residence. After driving by in a police cruiser, the female reportedly affirmed that the police had the male responsible for the slashing.
The male was then arrested and will likely be charged with injury to real and personal property… [DEVELOPING]
UPDATE: According to the Barnstable Police sources, Timothy Fagenholz, age 27, was charged with vandalizing property, Assault with Dangerous Weapon, and an outstanding probation warrant.
