HYANNIS DOG ATTACK: 22-year-old male bite victim… family was holed up in backyard shed… [HN VIDEO]
UPDATE – The Cape Cod Times reports that the dog’s original owner had recently placed the dog with this new family. When the original owner came out to help with the search, the dog came out the minute he was called… and was no longer aggressive with those on scene. The dog was then placed with the original owner, where he will be quarantined for 10 days.
UPDATE FROM THE BPD: The dog from this mornings incident has been captured and is being held in quarantine. Thank you all for your assistance and cooperation today.

UPDATE FROM THE BPD: Dog Bites Owner and Flees the Area
On Tuesday April 10, 2018 at approximately 12:50 a.m. the Barnstable Police Department
responded to a 911 call reporting a dog bite at 40 Anthony Drive in Hyannis. Officers arrived on scene
and located a 22 year old Hyannis man suffering from bite wounds on both of his forearms. The dog
was aggressive and was preventing access to the victim by Hyannis Rescue personnel. The dog
eventually ran off and has yet to be located.
The dog is described as a medium sized pitbull, brown and white in color and wearing a collar. The
name of the dog is Zeus. If anyone sees the dog, they are asked to notify the Barnstable Police
Department by calling 508-775-0812 or dialing 911. They can also notify animal control at 508-790-
6274. Do not attempt to approach or make contact with the dog in any way.

HYANNIS – As you will hear in the following HN Video, at about 12:50AM this morning, police responded to Anthony Drive for a family holed up in a backyard shed after a 22-year-old male was bitten by the family dog.
The bite victim was described as being “the fiance.” There was a baby inside the shed as well, crying… but according to sources, the baby was not harmed by the dog.
According to unofficial sources, the dog was described as being brown and white, and new to the family…
It’s uncertain what caused the attack and the dog was still out free in the neighborhood at the time of this report. Barnstable Animal Control was also on scene helping officers search the area.
