*** WATCH *** Hyannis woman accused of stabbing male visitor…
HYANNIS – A woman is under arrest and her male visitor is in Cape Cod Hospital after police responded to a stabbing on Sea Street last evening.
At about 10:37 last evening, Barnstable Police officers rushed toward one of the cottages located at 182 Sea Street after a man called saying he had just been stabbed by a woman who was still on scene. As you’ll hear in the following HN Video, the male also named the woman who allegedly stabbed him.
The first police officers on scene parked on Sea Street and immediately made their way toward one of the cottages located to the rear of the property. There they encountered a male bleeding from stab wounds to his left arm. The female suspect was still inside the cottage. The knife used during the alleged crime was said to be in the kitchen sink. Once secured, Hyannis rescue was requested to make their way onto the property.
The wounded male was placed on a stretcher, bandaged, and transported to Cape Cod Hospital. He named the female suspect and said he wanted her arrested. The female was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking.
According to sources, this was not a domestic violence situation. The male is said to have been a visitor at the female’s cottage. And as the evening wore on, it is believed the male may have overstayed his welcome, not wanting to leave when asked because it was too cold outside. An argument ensued. The male victim told police the female then stabbed him. The female, on the other hand, denies stabbing her guest, alleging that he actually stabbed himself. Police arrested the female based largely on the male’s stated version of events.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit took photos and processed evidence.
