HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, early this morning – 4/8/2021 – a Barnstable Police Patrolman initiated a routine traffic stop near the intersection of North Street and Bassett Lane. One of the occupants, a 25-year-old male, had 48 entries on his record, including multiple Assault and Batteries, Resisting Arrest, and Dangerous Weapon charges, according to police radio transmissions…
The routine traffic stop lead to officers finding alleged drugs, scales, and a large number of plastic bags all bundled up inside of a backpack. Officers allegedly found some type of illicit drug, enough to make an arrest. Officers also discovered a handgun, which turned out to be a pellet gun.
The 25-year-old male was arrested on possession charges and transported back to BPD Headquarters for booking.
The 23-year-old male driver was issued a citation and his pickup truck was towed from the scene.
