HYANNIS – A 68-year-old in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle on Barnstable Road this afternoon. The man had been crossing the street in his wheelchair, according to radio transmissions. CCH was placed on trauma alert. The patient was banged up but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening at the time of this report.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
