INITIAL HN REPORT:
MARSTONS MILLS – The 911 caller reported speaking with his female friend by phone as she walked into her home, and then it suddenly sounded like she was being attacked…
… and the phone went dead.
The first police officers on scene found the female stabbing victim in rough shape, suffering from multiple stab wounds, including stab wounds to her face and abdomen. The woman was described as being 41-years-old and in priority one condition. An ex-boyfriend is considered to be the prime suspect, according to radio transmissions.
He is still at large.
Medics immediately requested a Medflight. But the nearest helicopter was at least 30 minutes away, so the COMM ambulance rushed toward the Cape Cod Canal, possibly to meet the helicopter half way, possibly in the Plymouth area. The latest radio transmission indicated the victim was possibly being taken to Beth Israel Hospital. Her current condition is unknown at the time of this report.
Back at the crime scene, a Barnstable Police K9 unit was attempting to track the suspect. The Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit also began working the scene, taking photographs and collecting blood stained evidence. There was a lot of blood spilled.
A BPD detective sergeant was called in to work the case. Apparently there was a young boy on scene when the crime was committed.
This is developing story and HN will provide official updated details as they become available. The following highlights the crime scene and includes some the actual emergency radio transmissions.
