MARSTONS MILLS – [DEVELOPING] – At about 8:15 p.m. last evening – Sunday, February 28, 2021 – Barnstable Police Officers responded to an address on Putnam Avenue to investigate a larceny from a home.

As you will hear in the following brief HN Video, a man called police after arriving home to find that a safe had allegedly been stolen while he was out. The safe was said to have contained firearms, according to radio transmissions.

Additional resources were called to the scene to assist in the investigation; including a Barnstable Police K9 unit, a Barnstable Police Detective, and a member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene unit.

The K9 unit began tracking into a wooded area to the rear of the house, as the crime scene unit took photographs and collected additional evidence.

Additional details were unavailable at the time of this report. Members of the Barnstable PD patrol and detective divisions are investigating… and HN will provide official updates as they become available.
