MASHPEE PD: Operator pronounced deceased at single car crash scene… [HN VIDEO] [UPDATED]
MPD UPDATE – POLICE IDENTIFY FATAL CRASH VICTIM:
[Media Statement from Chief Scott Carline, Mashpee PD] The 27 year old male driver tragically killed last evening on Mashpee Neck Road in Mashpee, is identified as Dimas T. Cardoso, with a last known address out of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. The accident remains under investigation by the Mashpee Police Department as well as the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.

INITIAL REPORT:
MASHPEE – In a media statement, Chief Scott Carline of the Mashpee Police Department said that at approximately 9:27 p.m. last evening, his officers responded to a report of a possible motor vehicle accident in the area of 367 Mashpee Neck Road.
The caller reported hearing a loud crash and could see lights flashing in the area.
Upon arrival officers observed a single vehicle motor vehicle crashed into a guardrail.
Chief Carline’s media statement continues:
“The vehicle involved was traveling southbound on Mashpee Neck Road when it appears the operator lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the northbound lane and struck the guardrail. The operator of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by members of the Mashpee Fire/Rescue Department.
The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Mashpee Police Department,
Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Unit. This is an active and ongoing investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.”
