NEWS BRIEF: Man knocked unconscious outside Hyannis movie theater…
HYANNIS – A fight broke out and a man was knocked unconscious outside the Regal movie theaters at the Cape Cod Mall last evening.
The call initially came in as a juvenile down after some sort of assault.
Police, rescue, and Mall Security arrived to learn the patient was actually a man in his mid to late 20s.
Sources say the man was knocked unconscious during an altercation with another young man.
The man reportedly was eventually able to speak with police but was uncooperative, not giving details, other than saying he started the altercation and that he got what he deserved.
Based on information provided, or lack thereof, no arrests were made and the incident was classified as a “simple assault…” which basically means that a crime had likely occurred… but it was a misdemeanor and the result of an altercation which was not observed by law enforcement as it occurred. “Victims” of a “simple assault” are advised that they can take out their own charges at District Court, if they so choose…
Rescue transported the patient to CCH, basically because they were concerned after they learned he had lost consciousness…
