NO LIVES LOST: Seat belt credited with OUI suspect’s survival during rollover crash…

FEMALE ARRESTED FOR OUI AFTER ROLLOVER CRASH
On Sunday, August 19, 2018 at approximately 1:00AM the Yarmouth Police Department received an OnStar report of a motor vehicle rollover crash near the intersection of Union Street and White Rock Road in Yarmouthport.
Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Ryan Murphy arrived at the scene and found a female operator trapped inside her Chevrolet Cruz automobile.
Members of the Yarmouth Fire department arrived and were able to successfully remove the driver from the vehicle.
Driver was fortunately not injured and the use of her seatbelt was critical to her survival.
Driver declined to be transported to CCH.
Officer Murphy and fellow midnight shift Patrol Officers found the operator to be intoxicated and placed her under arrest for OUI.
Vehicle was towed and impounded.
Subject was booked at YPD Headquarters and subsequently released on Personal Recognizance after paying $40 bail fee.
Subject due to be in the Barnstable District Court on Monday, August 20, 2018 for arraignment.
