Not a good day for driver after slow speed pursuit…
Hyannis – At approximately 2:20pm an unmarked Street Crimes Unit was having a difficult time with a brown Toyota. The Toyota was reportedly traveling 3 miles per hour and wouldn’t stop.
For the second time in just several hours police assigned to the Hyannis area had difficulty with a vehicle that didn’t pull over right away.
In this case, the Toyota yielded and stopped minutes after the pursuit began, bringing multiple cops and vehicles, marked and unmarked, different shapes and sizes, uniformed and sweatshirts, over and undercover, shaven and unshaven… suddenly to the area of 204 Scudder Avenue where an arrest was made by Officer Ginnetty. It was an impressive burst of police manpower…
… and briefly a cause for alarm, with officers not knowing why this individual decided not to stop.
Hyannis News spoke with a Barnstable Police representative after the booking process.
As it turns out, the driver was charged with failure to stop for a police officer, one unmarked lanes violation, and failure to signal for a turn.
As the upset young man was being placed into a cruiser he admitted he clearly was not having a good day.
