HYANNIS – At about 7:10pm this evening, police and firefighters rushed to Barnstable Road in front of the Cromwell Court Apartments for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The victim is described as an older male who was out walking when he was struck by a car. His injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening, according to Captain Jeffry Huska of the Hyannis Fire Department.

Cape Cod hospital was placed on trauma alert as a precaution… and the Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause crash.

According to a BPD source, there were no arrests at the scene…
