PACKIE RUN GONE BAD: Son hauled away, accused of just robbing man at knifepoint… mom blindsided by news… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – A man’s mom had just stopped by when police were hauling him away for armed robbery.
As you’ll hear in the following video, last evening at about 10:00PM, a caller told police he had just been robbed at knifepoint during what should have been a peaceful packie run.
Police were looking for a white sedan with a female driver, the male suspect, and possibly a third individual.
A woman believed to have been the female driver, was said to have taken off when police located the suspect vehicle at 34 Yarmouth Road.
Police were in the middle of investigating an alleged felony. Officers needed to speak with everyone that was possibly involved, which is why a patrolman had to go and get the female driver who appeared to be evading them at a nearby address. The female was temporarily detained in handcuffs and escorted back to 34 Yarmouth Road.
After a victim statement and investigation, Jeremy Albanese, age 35, of Hyannis was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
While being led toward a cruiser, an agitated Albanese told his mom he had just been arrested for armed robbery. The mother was initially stunned by the news, but then focused on speaking with officers and trying to get her son to calm down.
The female driver was not arrested.
Albanese was transported to Barnstable Police Headquarters, where he was booked and later released on $5000 bail.
The following video begins with actual police radio transmissions and HN dashcam footage. It then shows the moments when a patrolman had to go and find the female driver and take her back to the scene of the investigation. The video also shows the moment when Albanese told his mom why he was being led away in handcuffs.
