HN VIDEO: Patient allegedly threatened to sic his dog on emergency room staff… pet taken into animal control custody…
HYANNIS – A man’s dog was taken into Barnstable Animal Control custody this afternoon when he showed up inside the Cape Cod Hospital emergency room and allegedly threatened to sic his furry friend on hospital staff.
At about 4:35PM, police rushed to the scene to ensure the teeth and fur didn’t start flying…
… and everything had thankfully calmed down upon the first officer’s arrival, according to police radio transmissions.
A Barnstable Animal Control officer was called to the scene to take a rather friendly looking pooch into custody. It did not appear the dog was the aggressive one in this situation…
At the time of this report, it remains uncertain how long the dog will be in Town of Barnstable custody… or whether he will be eventually reunited with his owner… or whether the owner will be charged with a crime for the alleged threats…
HN will provide updates as they become available.
UPDATE: The dog has been identified as “Bear.” He is said to be very friendly. Both Bear and his owner are believed to be currenly homeless and living on the streets.
UPDATE: As of 9:00PM, Bear and his human have been reunited.
