HYANNIS – It has become a local Cape Cod tradition. Each Memorial Day at 2:00AM, available police squad cars in the Mid-Cape area speed by the troops standing at attention, their lights and sirens blaring.

This year’s 10th Annual “Troops in the Spotlight” at the Kmart shopping plaza was no different.

It was thankfully quiet enough for a good number of police in the area to express their respect for our troops in such a unique way…

Each year representatives from all branches of the military take their turns standing at attention for one hour looking out over Route 132 and the Cape Cod Mall.

These dedicated troops stand at attention around the clock every Memorial Day.
