The following is the actual YPD press statement:
Yarmouth, Barnstable, and Massachusetts State Police Arrest Five at Disturbance
On Monday, May 9, 2016 at approximately 7:00PM, the Yarmouth Police Department responded to 26 Marigold Road in West Yarmouth to serve a Protective Order against Christopher Barrie at the request of his mother. The Yarmouth Police Department had responded numerous times to the same residence in the past relating to conflicts between his mother and his friends.
Upon arrival at the residence, Yarmouth Police were informed that Christopher was not home. His mother reported numerous ongoing problems with her son which caused her to seek the Protective Order. The issues involved him inviting over multiple friends who sleep and stay in the home at all hours of the day and night. When she confronts Christopher and his friends, they threaten her. She felt as though her house is being overrun and she has no control. The mother and Yarmouth Police have worked together in the past and issued Trespass Orders but often times they would return, sneaking in through windows when she is sleeping or out of the house.
At approximately 8:52PM, Yarmouth Police Officers returned to 26 Marigold Road based on a call from his mother. Yarmouth Police Dispatchers advised the Officers that Christopher was home with friends and that his mother left her home and was calling police from a neighbor’s house.
Yarmouth Police Officers made contact at 26 Marigold Road with Christopher as well as several others who were also present. People who were trespassing at the home ran off into the neighborhood. Two of them were immediately confronted by a Yarmouth Police Department K9 unit and they were both detained. Others subjects were loose on foot in the neighborhood. One of them came up upon the K9 unit and began apparently videotaping with his cell phone. He held it up at the Officer and while confronting, antagonizing, and provoking the Officer and his police dog by using profanities, making threats, and yelling at them.
Additional Yarmouth Police Officers responded and confronted four males: some who were yelling and swearing in an aggressive manner. Additional Yarmouth Police Officers responded, as well as members of the Barnstable and Massachusetts State Police. Christopher Barrie continued to be uncooperative and resisted being placed in handcuffs. Barrie’s fists were clenched and he appeared to be extremely agitated. He began throwing punches and was using profanity, threatening police with gang references, and referencing the “Nauti Block.” His resistance was overcome and he was placed under arrest.
A juvenile female also arrived at the scene and began interfering. She was warned to stop and refused and she was subsequently placed in custody.
Five subjects were arrested and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters. The juveniles were transported to a facility off-Cape.
All five will be arraigned in the Barnstable District Adult and Juvenile Courts today. The names of the juveniles involved in this crime are being held.
The Yarmouth Police Department extends our gratitude and appreciation to the Barnstable Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police for their prompt response and assistance.
