A young man with 61 previous charges involving drugs, guns, and violence was still allowed to walk our streets, and freely rack up more serious crimes!
The ineptness and dysfunction of our current court system never ceases to astound and confound anyone with the faintest lick of common sense!
Is our local court system completely broken?
If so, what can be done about it?

Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Seize Cash, Guns and Drugs During Raids

As the result of a joint investigation spanning two months, Yarmouth & Barnstable Police Department Drug Enforcement Detectives and the Yarmouth Proactive Anti-crime Officers executed a search warrant on Thursday, April 2, 2015 just before midnight at a South Yarmouth Motel.
Detectives located and seized approximately 9 grams of “crack” cocaine along with $1168.00 in Cash. Arrested during the search was Timothy Fletcher Age 33 of Yarmouth.
Additionally, Detectives recovered keys on the suspect’s person that he was attempting to hide during his arrest.
After an all-night intensive search by Detectives, a rental storage unit connected to Fletcher was located in Hyannis. A second search warrant then obtained for the storage unit. The search warrant for the storage unit was executed. The following items were seized from the storage unit:
– 200 grams of uncut cocaine – street value $50,000
– Drug packaging materials & scales
– .380 TCP Taurus semi-automatic handgun
– .9mm Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun
– .45 Regent semi-Automatic handgun
– Ammunition
– $1,400 cash
In addition to the initial charges of Possession of a Cocaine with Intent to Distribute as a Subsequent Offense, Fletcher is also facing the following charges:
– Illegal Possession of a Firearm [3 counts]
– Armed Career Criminal
– Trafficking Cocaine 100-200 grams
Fletcher is well known to police [and has] 61 previous criminal charges involving cocaine distribution, firearms and crimes of violence. At the time of Fletcher’s arrest, he was out on bail from a recent Hyannis arrest for drugs.
Fletcher is currently being held without bail at the Barnstable House of Correction pending a hearing at the Barnstable District Court on Monday.
