TREACHEROUS CONDITIONS: Rollovers, spin outs, Route 6 stoppages and delays… [Video]
State and municipal police, along with fire departments, had their hands full with numerous accidents, many with injuries, across the Mid-Cape this afternoon…
The following video highlights two separate accidents which occurred at about 1:00pm during heavy snowfall and treacherous road conditions.
The first accident was a rollover just prior to Exit 5 on the Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6) in West Barnstable. A woman was transported to CCH with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
There were traffic backups and stoppages as first responders needed to close a travel lane while cleaning up the scene…
The second accident was a head-on collision. It occurred shortly after the first and it was originally believed that one of the injured was in a “priority one” or life-threatening condition. That patient’s condition was improved to “priority two” just before being transported to hospital. A section of Route 130 needed to be closed down in the area of Main Street and Mashpee Town Hall while first responders cleaned up the scene.
The following video was shot during steady heavy snowfall at a time when there were numerous accidents across the Cape, seemingly all happening within a one to two hour time frame… [Press play… select HD in the settings and enlarge player for best quality…]

P.P.S. -- [Photo] Two good souls of the Mashpee Fire Department managed to briefly pose for a moment of levity in between the snowflakes, after seeing to the injured and cleaning up the scene... Be safe out there and thank you for all that you do :)
