UNDER INVESTIGATION: Truck crashes into historical 19th century sea captain’s house… [VIDEO]
COTUIT – Police still are not sure what caused a Ford pickup truck to leave the roadway, crash through a fence, and then a deck, before smashing through the front of a 19th century sea captain’s house last evening.
The accident occurred at about 8:30PM at 1169 Main Street.
According to a “Historical Inventory” on the Town of Barnstable website, the home once belonged to Captain Urial Hutchins. The document has the year 1860 associated with the house. A sign on the front of the home says 1856…
Barnstable Police are investigating the cause of the crash. According to sources, the driver did not appear to be operating while impaired. The female behind the wheel did not need medical attention and was reportedly an experienced driver. Police have not ruled out the possibility of some sudden unknown medical issue. They are also strongly considering whether there may have been some sort mechanical failure underneath the truck. The truck reportedly hit the building without braking. There was also damage to a rod underneath the truck which may have effected steering…

Sandwich Police are looking for the driver who fled the scene of a motorcycle crash...
SANDWICH – At about 7:25PM last evening, police and firefighters responded to the scene of a motorcycle crash near the intersection of Boardley Road and Harlow Road.
The motorcycle was heavily damaged and missing the front wheel.
A witness reportedly saw the driver walking away from the crash in the direction of Cotuit.
The motorcycle may not have been properly registered according radio transmissions.
