SOUTH YARMOUTH, Massachusetts – [HN NOTES] – At around 1:00 a.m. this morning, Yarmouth Police received a call about a man reportedly trying to break into the ATM machine in the parking lot next to the Skull Island miniature golf course on Route 28. He was said to have been screaming, yelling and generally out of control. He was also said to have been using a large rock while trying to break the windows to the bank machine…
When officers arrived, they found a man in the middle of some type of bizarre freak-out. They did not find a large rock, nor did they find any damage to the ATM machine. Instead, they found a shirtless, barefoot man in the water at the mini-golf course.
The man was out of the water and jumping up and down next to officers when HN arrived. Officers were attempting to reason with him in an effort to guide him into a nearby ambulance. Once safely inside the ambulance, he was transported to Cape Cod Hospital in protective custody due to drug usage, according to radio transmissions.
