*** WATCH *** FLEEING SUSPECT FOUND STUCK INSIDE CHIMNEY!
FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS – [BEYOND OUR BRIDGES…] – “You’re an idiot,” was the first thing a Fall River cop said to a fleeing suspect, after climbing high up onto a roof and finding the wanted man stuck deep down inside a chimney Tuesday evening.
According to a City of Fall River Police Department media statement and body cam footage, Tuesday evening – December 10, 2024 – detectives assigned to the Community Action & Suppression Team (CAST) were executing a search warrant at 127 Canal Street when two males fled from them along a rooftop.
One man eluded capture by bounding from the roof onto a parked vehicle before running away. While a second man, later identified as Robert Langlais, 33, was spotted climbing down into a chimney by a man out walking his dog. As you will see in the following Fall River PD body cam footage, detectives climbed high up onto a rooftop and found Langlais wedged deep down inside a chimney!
With the help of Fall River firefighters and EMTs – and after apparently needing to take apart a section of chimney – detectives were able to successfully rescue Langlais and take him into custody.
Langlais was transported to an area hospital as a precaution before being medically cleared.
Robert Langlais was charged with Possession of Class A drugs, Possession of Class B drugs, and a number of other charges from outstanding warrants.
