*** WATCH *** OPERATOR OF VIBRANT ORANGE CORVETTE FLED TRAFFIC STOP ON FOOT, LEFT WHEELS BEHIND, LOCKED…
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN VIDEO NOTES] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, and according to police sources, at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning – 5/11/2025 – the operator of an orange Corvette, allegedly exited (and apparently locked) his vehicle during a traffic stop with a Massachusetts State Trooper before fleeing on foot.
The Trooper pursued on foot until he lost sight of the young adult male in a wooded area near Old Yarmouth Road and Yarmouth Road. The Trooper reportedly was able to identify the alleged suspect after having recently dealt with him during a separate traffic stop, according to sources on scene.
Responding troopers, along with members of the Barnstable and Yarmouth Police Departments, were given the suspect’s description as being a black male, khaki pants, blue sweatshirt, fleeing north from the corner of Yarmouth Road and Route 28, the area of the initial traffic stop. Responding backup officers were also advised of an orange BMW circling the area, likely trying to pick up the fleeing suspect. The possible identity of the alleged fleeing 19-year-old suspect was also given out to police in the area… as officers began checking possible past or currently related residences in Yarmouth.
A state police K-9 began searching the area after making its way to the scene from off-Cape.
Officers stopped a white McLaren sports car that was allegedly observed circling the area. According to sources, the sports car was being operated by the alleged fleeing suspect’s brother. The McLaren was detained for a period of time on the side of Yarmouth Road with police officers while the search continued. Officers did not want the driver to possibly interfere with their search. A white jeep which was reportedly driven by the sister of the alleged fleeing suspect was also allegedly observed circling the area… and was also detained along with the McLaren on the side of Yarmouth Road for the same reason.
The search for the fleeing driver ended after about an hour and a half. The orange Corvette was towed from the scene by state troopers as the investigation continued… [DEVELOPING]
Sources believe the suspect escaped after being picked up by another vehicle. The alleged suspect is said to have been operating on a suspended driver’s license. Word on the street is that the suspect is hiding out somewhere in the area, waiting to turn himself in at court later today. It remains uncertain why the driver allegedly fled the scene in the first place…
