*** WATCH *** WOMAN SUFFERS “MULTI-SYSTEM TRAUMA” IN YARMOUTH CRASH
YARMOUTH – The crash happened on Old Main Street right next to Yarmouth FD headquarters at around 7:30 p.m. There were wires down and a utility pole across the roadway. Yarmouth paramedics walked through a wooded area next to the station in order to avoid downed wires. As you will hear in the following HN Video, a Medflight helicopter was requested to respond to the airport in Hyannis. The patient was initially described as a woman suffering multi-system trauma, according to radio transmission. She was the sole occupant inside the vehicle which was heavily damaged. There was a possibly involved second vehicle that had minor damage. The second vehicle was able to drive away from the scene. Medflight was eventually cancelled and the patient was described as being in priority two condition prior to transport to Cape Cod Hospital.
The Yarmouth Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. HN will provide official updates as they become available.
