YPD DISPATCH: “It’s coming back stolen out of Barnstable…” [HN VIDEO]
SOUTH YARMOUTH – [DEVELOPING] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, shortly before 2:00 a.m. this morning, a Yarmouth Police Patrolman was making routine checks when he came upon a black Nissan Altima parked at Thatcher Park Beach…
… and when dispatch ran the plate it came back as being a stolen motor vehicle out of the Town of Barnstable.
Two additional YPD patrol units responded to assist.
The female driver was taken into custody and the vehicle was towed to the Barnstable Police facility on Phinneys Lane in Hyannis. It’s uncertain what, if anything, the female will be officially charged with, as this is the Barnstable Police Department’s ongoing investigation.
Sources tell HN the Nissan Altima was a rental vehicle that wasn’t returned on time, and that it may be as many as several weeks overdue. HN also learned the driver may have been “living” inside the vehicle… [DEVELOPING]
