MARSTONS MILLS – A 25-year-old (according to radio transmissions) was taken by helicopter to Mass. General Hospital in Boston after an early morning crash took down a utility pole and power lines.
At about 1:00 a.m., this morning, police and firefighters responded to a rolled over vehicle entangled in live wires on River Road.
The male driver, and only occupant, was able to self-extricate… and was speaking with first responders when HN arrived on scene. It was immediately apparent he was suffering from severe facial trauma. The severity of the lacerations prompted medics to airlift the patient to an off-Cape trauma center.
A section of River Road needed to be completely closed down and was expected to remain closed down throughout the morning as power crews repaired the damage.
