Angry young man detained and questioned…
Hyannis – At approximately 7:30pm yesterday police received a report that a man on bike wearing a black shirt may have threatened a motorist with a gun in the East end.
The reporting party told police the male took off on his bike in the direction of Barnstable Road.
Multiple Barnstable cruisers, along with a State Police unit responded to the area of Washington Ave where they had a suspect in mind, finding a bike that looked as if it had just been quickly abandoned outside of the suspect’s residence.
Officers approached and detained a young man who fit the description given by the motorist. The suspect did not have a gun on him at the time he was confronted by police.
Police returned to the original scene where they questioned a witness.
An arrest was not made at this time and the incident remains under investigation…
Side note: after the above photo was taken, the suspect approached Hyannis News and offered to buy the image for twice the normal rate. In light of the suspect’s agitated state, police were quick to advise him to avoid further confrontations. Needless to say, I did not take him up on his generous offer. The poor young lad appeared as if he was having a bad day. In certain situations Hyannis News may exercise discretion and obscure suspect images whenever there are still unanswered questions.
