YARMOUTH AND NEW BEDFORD POLICE CAPTURE ARMED ROBBER
On Friday, January 12, 2018 at approximately 7:17PM, numerous Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to 71 Lower Brook Road for a report of a robbery involving a firearm that had just occurred. The reporting party also stated that the involved parties had fled in a dark-colored sedan in an unknown direction.
Police Officers arrived immediately and—according to the people involved statements –determined that a subject at the residence had been robbed of his cell phone by a female and three larges males armed with a handgun.
The suspects fled in a motor vehicle and Police Officers and Yarmouth Police Department Emergency 911 Dispatchers put out an alert to all neighboring communities.
At approximately 8:45PM, the New Bedford Police Department notified the YPD that they had located the female suspect and found a 9mm silver/black Smith and Wesson handgun in her purse.
The female has an active License To Carry in the Massachusetts.
Yarmouth Police Detectives responded to NBPD Headquarters and transported to suspect to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.
She is currently being held here at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters on $5,000 cash bail. She will be arraigned in the Barnstable District Court on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
