UPDATE – 11/15/22 @ 7:00AM: Patricia Callahan, age 39, of Centerville, was arrested last evening by a Barnstable Police Patrolman on the 4 to midnight shift during a traffic stop. Adderall pills, believed to be the stolen prescription medication, allegedly taken during Monday’s report of a violent robbery from a 63-year-old Hyannis woman, were recovered after the suspect’s arrest. Callahan is being charged with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Person Over Age 60, Assault & Battery on a Person Over Age 60, Armed Assault to Rob a Person Over Age 60, and Larceny From a Person Over Age 60. Callahan is also being charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute (recovered Adderall Pills).
Callahan is accused of repeatedly punching the 63-year-old Hyannis woman in the face while in the process of stealing Adderall pills from her purse. During the alleged robbery, Callahan is also accused of standing over the victim while kicking her with boots on. The victim felt what she believed was a knife being held to her neck as the suspect allegedly stated, “If you don’t give it to me, I’m going to fucking kill you, I have a knife.”
The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, apparently suffering from significant injuries that occurred during the alleged robbery. Officers were able to observe facial injuries, including a red spot on the victim’s eyeball, a lacerated lip, and swelling and bruising to the victim’s cheeks. The victim was missing a dental crown which she said occurred during the assault. At the hospital, the victim was reportedly shouting out in pain from her injuries, including severe back pain from allegedly being repeatedly kicked by the suspect wearing boots.

INITIAL HN REPORT:
HYANNIS – Around 1:00 a.m. this morning, Barnstable Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a woman in the middle of Ocean Street, appearing beat up after some type of attack. The alleged attackers, a female and possibly a male, were reportedly seen leaving the scene on foot. Shortly after the initial report, police received a call from the alleged victim asking to be taken to the hospital. The alleged victim, a 63-year-old female, reportedly resides on Ocean Street. The first police officers to speak with the victim immediately requested Hyannis Rescue to the scene. The 63-year-old was then transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The attack turned out to be an alleged armed robbery of prescription pills. And it is believed a knife was used to intimidate the alleged victim. At one point the victim said she felt what she believed to be a knife pressed against her.
According to radio transmissions and police sources, investigating officers developed “probable cause” for an arrest and put out a description of a female suspect (a “Patricia Callahan”) and her vehicle, a 2010 black Nissan Maxima with a revoked registration for lack of insurance. It is alleged the female suspect “took off from the scene” in the black Maxima. The female suspect is reportedly known to the alleged victim and this alleged armed robbery is not believed to be a random incident. In addition to being wanted for the alleged armed robbery, the suspect is also wanted for the alleged Assault & Battery on a Person Over Age 60.
A computer search also revealed the female suspect has active warrants for her arrest on separate past allegations.
As of the time of this report, police had come up empty handed after searching the general area, along with checking the suspect’s last known addresses. If the suspect is not located, (or otherwise does not turn herself in), an arrest warrant will be issued for the alleged felonies, Armed Robbery and Assault & Battery on a Person Over Age 60.
The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit assisted with photos and evidence collection.
* The details contained in the above report are based on police radio transmissions, observations on scene, and information from police sources on scene. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
