CLOSE SHAVE: 86-year-old man escapes major Sagamore Bridge crash with just minor injuries…

BOURNE – Yesterday, at about 11:35 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a crash between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle…
… the passenger vehicle was partially crushed and heavily damaged.
Miraculously, an 86-year-old Quincy man was able to escape the twisted vehicle wreckage, eventually being transported to hospital with just minor injuries.
The bridge was completely closed in both directions for about a half hour, which caused extensive traffic backups and delays.
Special heavy equipment needed to be brought in to remove both vehicles.
The bridge was finally completely reopened in both directions shortly before 4pm.
