It’s not.
Operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, or any substance, is something that puts both you and others at risk. The risks range from receiving a serious drunk driving charge, to getting in an accident with injuries… or death.
Being arrested for OUI is not a pleasant experience and the following video will hopefully serve as a reminder that it’s just not worth taking a risk behind the wheel after drinking…
The video highlights the field sobriety testing of two suspects from two separate incidents, the first one just before last call, the second right after…
The first part of the video focuses in on the scene after police were called to Scudder Ave for a report of what sounded like a traffic accident. Police discovered a damaged utility pole and debris from a collision. William Cooksey, age 23, from Texas, told police he was a student at Mass Maritime Academy in Buzzard’s Bay. Police suspected he may have been intoxicated and decided to administer field sobriety tests.
Cooksey was arrested and charged with OUI, Leaving the Scene of the crash, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and a Marked Lane Violation…
The second part of the video focuses on a drunk driving arrest which occurred about 15 minutes after the local bars closed for the evening.
