YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – A slick-talking con artist pedaled up to the Yarmouth Police Headquarters on a bicycle early this morning, entered the lobby, got some keys, and made off with a family’s 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck!
According to sources, shortly before two o’clock this morning – 6/30/2025 – a young local family of three arrived at the entrance to Yarmouth Police Headquarters in order to bail out a relative from custody. They had reportedly parked right in front of the entrance, an area reserved for emergency parking only. As the story goes, a mysterious man then coasted in on a bicycle and brazenly walked into the police station like he owned the place, boldly telling the family they couldn’t park there. The man was so convincing the owner of the pickup truck turned over his keys, believing the man must be an employee at the department… and that he was simply going to move the pickup to an appropriate parking space. The stranger then hopped in the pickup truck and took off, leaving the trusting family stranded in the lobby of police headquarters.
Yarmouth Police wasted no time in blasting out a B.O.L.O. to all area police departments, announcing that a pickup truck had just been snatched from right out in front of their police station. The stolen vehicle was described as a black 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck with Massachusetts license plates reading 4WF A51 (at the time of the theft). Police in the area were still actively searching for the stolen truck at the time of this report.
The entire theft is believed to have been captured on police surveillance video. HN will update this story with possible images and/or a description of the suspect as they become available. No further details were available at this time. [DEVELOPING]
