UPDATE from Tara Miltimore of the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office: At approximately 11:10 am this morning Barnstable Police received a call of a body floating in the water at the end of a jetty at Kalmus Beach. The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital where she was later declared deceased. The matter remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office however at this time no foul play is suspected.
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – According to sources, a person was pulled from the water near a jetty at Kalmus Beach this morning, at about 11:14 a.m…
Emergency vehicles had to respond across a significant span of beach to reach the victim.
There are witness reports of clothing also being found nearby on the jetty.
The victim was removed from the frigid water, carried into an ambulance, and taken to CCH.
Details about the victim’s condition are unknown at the time of this report. Police sources at BPD Headquarters are still awaiting details from investigating officers at CCH.
