HOMICIDE: Man rushed to CCH after found on sidewalk with “gunshot wound to the chest…” Barnstable and Massachusetts State Police investigating [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] About 2:27AM this morning, a young patrolwoman noticed what appeared to be someone passed out on the sidewalk… it turned out to be a man with a “gunshot wound to the chest…”
UPDATE: According to sources, this case is being investigated as a homicide.
UPDATE: The deceased has been identified as Jermaine Taylor, age 41, of East Falmouth.
HN NOTE: Please keep the victim’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
HN NOTE: The victim’s heart appeared to not be beating on its own at the scene… first responders were doing constant chest compressions… eventually attaching a “Lucus” device which took over the compressions as the victim was being transported to CCH. Also, police apparently treated the scene as a likely homicide right from the start, closing off the entire area, searching for clues, and knocking on doors… one neighbor reportedly heard a single “pop,” according to radio transmissions… Also, in an unusual move, police had a private taxi cab enter and drive into the scene after the area had been closed off… police then ran and arrested the passenger for warrants, just feet from where the victim was found… you can see this happen near the end of the first video.
All that is known at this hour is basically what you will see and hear in the following 2 HN Videos:
