HN NOTES: Misdemeanors and “petty crimes” are crimes nonetheless and will be documented as such on HN. Covering crime in this region, one tends to become desensitized to the “lesser” crimes which often add up and become a greater nuisance over a period of time. HN will do its best to not become desensitized to crime.
A mother recently phoned HN concerned about a published booking photo which was being circulated by her adult daughter’s peers on Facebook. In our judiciary, one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is HN’s policy to document alleged crimes with images and information leading up to and included in that process. Perhaps the surest way not to be photographed by HN is to not be arrested for an alleged crime in the first place, or to not be around someone else who was arrested… For some, this may not always be as simple as it seems for most others. And HN has compiled years of anecdotal evidence which suggests an overwhelming large majority of those truly wishing to stay out of media reports tend to be much more successful at it than the very few who fail.
