The following is the actual Barnstable Police Press statement:
On Wednesday June 22nd Barnstable Police Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at 102 Compass Circle in Hyannis. The search warrant was the result of a month long investigation by Detective Thomas Chevalier for cocaine distribution by 34 year old Rondy Foggie of Hyannis and her boyfriend 29 year old William Hart of Brockton MA.
Upon execution of the search warrant at 10am, detectives approached Hart as he entered his Mercedes SUV in the driveway of 102 Compass Circle. Hart was able to get into the SUV and then drove across the lawn of the home and fled the scene. Detectives were able to follow Hart onto Hinckley Rd., where he rammed a police vehicle and continued to refuse to stop. After ramming a second police vehicle, his Mercedes became inoperable and he fled on foot. Deputy Chief Balcom and Detective Ginnetty then chased and caught Hart in the back yard of a home on Hinckley Rd.
After Hart fled the home on Compass Circle, Detective Sergeant Butler and Detective Chevalier were able to make entry to Foggie’s home, where she was detained. A search was conducted inside the home and detectives located approximately 116 grams of crack cocaine inside one of Hart’s sneakers.
William Hart was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine (over 100 grams), 3 counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (motor vehicle), 2 counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (motor vehicle), Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws.
William Hart has an extensive criminal record involving firearms and illegal narcotics. In 2009 he was convicted in Barnstable Superior Court for Distribution of Cocaine and received a 2 year sentence. In addition, that same year he was convicted in Suffolk Superior Court for Assault with Intent to Kill, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Firearm and sentenced to 5-7 years.
Hart was arraigned in Barnstable District Court and held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
