COPS INVESTIGATING SINGLE VEHICLE WEST BARNSTABLE CRASH [HN PHOTOS]
WEST BARNSTABLE, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – An older male was able to walk into the back of an ambulance without assistance after his Honda Pilot struck a utility pole last evening. Airbags and crash curtains apparently deployed upon impact, which likely saved the driver from serious injury. He ended up being transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation.
At around 11:00 p.m., Barnstable Police officers and members of the Centerville Osterville Marstons Mills Fire Department, responded to Osterville West Barnstable Road, just north of Race Lane, where they found a moderately to heavily damaged SUV. A utility pole was also split in half during the crash, and would need repairs… but it remained upright, with all its wires still connected.
The driver was the registered owner of the damaged Honda Pilot, which needed to be towed from the scene. He was the sole occupant.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit took photos… and the Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
